The main cost to the Mongooses was in time: they were racing against the Nova Cats, and the many bands of Mongrels had to be run down separately. Their lack of coordination and discipline allowed the Mongooses to defeat them in detail. The Mob was heavily armed and aggressive by nature, and they outnumbered the Mongooses by more than four to one. The Mongooses faced off against the Mongrel Mob, a loosely organized collection of warrior bands who fielded everything from 'Mechs to machine gun–equipped motorcycles. The two Clans split up for the next part of the campaign, in a friendly competition with each other for who would gain the right to pursue the final objective. After that, only occasional guerrilla activity was a concern. The capital took another four days, and proved somewhat more costly. The Mongooses lost two warriors to a "friendly" bomb that landed among them due to a faulty seeker-head, but otherwise losses were minimal. Together, they mounted a blitzkrieg assault against the Emerald Kingdom, most of which fell in only eleven days. The Mongooses found themselves paired with the Nova Cats in the Southern Campaign. Mongoose Khan Mitchell Loris took charge of strategy and logistics, leaving saKhan Borislav Sais as the tactical commander. Operation KLONDIKE Ĭlan Mongoose was assigned to liberate Circe alongside Clan Nova Cat, Clan Snow Raven, and Clan Wolverine. On 9 June 2815 Nicholas used the occasion of Carson's memorial service to announce the creation of Bloodnames and to declare himself ilKhan. Andery Kerensky took charge of putting down the insurrection. Shots rang out, injuring Nicholas and several civilians, and killing James Carson of Clan Mongoose. On 27 December 2814, Nicholas Kerensky held a parade of his 800 new Clan Warriors.
